Meet the Team

We are happy to introduce a few of our 2015 team members:

Tabby zombie bio

Tabby Fuerstenau – Producer

Tabby Fuerstenau has been involved and dancing with the Thrill the World for 3 years.  She has a passion for this community event as she loves Halloween and to dance.  Last year, after the Grove was torn apart and left a hole, Tabby was instrumental in relocating Thrill the World Boise to it’s current location at the Boise Spectrum.  She’s back this year and ready to help us all make a lasting impression on the world.  She looks forward to meeting everyone and having fun as we Thrill The World.

Lindsay Zombiefied

Lindsay Kopp – Instructor (co-producer)

Lindsay Kopp is an Eastern Idaho native.  While in Pocatello, Lindsay took a few ballroom dance classes and grew a deep appreciation for dancing.  She recently moved to Boise two years ago and, while slightly missing it, was introduced to the Thrill the World flash mob scene.  This will be Lindsay’s second year dancing with Thrill the World Boise and first time instructing.  She looks forward to meeting everyone this year and spreading the word about such a great event.

Jade Maldonado – Instructor

Jade A. Maldonado was born and raised in Boise, Idaho.  She is a seventh grader at Lewis and Clark Middle School, where she maintains a 4.0 GPA. Jade studied ballet, hip-hop and Jazz dance for many years, but spends most of her free time these days playing competitive soccer, which she has done since the age of 5. Jade has been involved with Thriller for 4 years now, and played “Michael Jackson” in one of the productions. Last year was her first year teaching the dance and she looks forward to doing it again this year. Jade is full of life. She enjoys people and brings an open mind and enthusiasm to whatever she does.

Teri2  Teri Calkins – Instructor

“When people dance they let go of some their inhibitions and you get to see a glimpse of the true, raw person- I never get tired of looking for that. Thrill the world is an amazing experience because we are all doing our own unique version of a classic song and you can’t help but feel united with the people around you. It is just ridiculously fun and I am happy to play a small part.”

This is Teri’s second year teaching the dance and third year participating in the Thrill the World experience.

Teri is a Co-Owner of Firehouse No. 6 and teaches group fitness classes. However, her background is in Biology and she served in the military for 6 years as military police.

Tim website Tim Welch – Instructor

Long before the Walking Dead was even a concept, Tim Welch spent an inordinate amount of time during the early 1980s in front of his MTV attempting unsuccessfully to emulate the moves of Michael Jackson and his zombie troop while watching Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

In October 2011, Tim finally fulfilled his lifelong wish to learn the dance when he enthusiastically joined on with Thrill the World Boise. He fondly remembers those first performances on the Grove, in front of Boise City Hall and at the Old Idaho Penitentiary, which all fell joyously on a weekend between jobs.

In 2014, Tim volunteered to instruct, and he has really enjoyed passing on his knowledge of the dance to prospective zombies. Aside from his full-time job at Boise State University, which makes more of a zombie out if him than instructing Thriller ever could, Tim is also deep water fitness class instructor at the downtown YMCA.
